Description
Ecolite blocks are cut on wire-cutting lines and steam-cured in autoclaves, which gives them sharp arrises and consistent dimensions. That accuracy is what lets you lay them with 2–3 mm of joint mortar instead of a 12 mm sand-cement bed. This is the 600 × 200 mm face that most drawings and contractor rates assume.

Laying AAC with thin-bed mortar
- Lay the first course on a level bed of normal sand-cement mortar to take up slab unevenness.
- From the second course, mix joint mortar with 25–30% clean water to a smooth paste.
- Spread it 2–3 mm thick with a notched trowel as wide as the block, on bed and vertical joints.
- Tap each block to line and level with a rubber mallet. Stagger vertical joints by at least 100 mm.
- No curing needed. Plaster or putty can follow once the mortar has hardened.
Delivery and unloading
Blocks are sold by the cubic metre and travel strapped on pallets. One truck carries up to 33 m³; bigger orders are split across trucks. Joint mortar and cement bags ride on the same truck, or come on their own if you order chemical only. Tell us the floor, road access and whether a crane or hoist is available when you check out, and we'll plan the drop.
